Our story
Rooted in land. Crafted by hand.
7LAND grew out of a family that has farmed coconuts in the Kongu belt for generations. With our parent company VMDS Trades, we started pressing our own oil the way our elders did: slowly, in a wooden chekku, with nothing added.
Today the same family presses coconut, groundnut and sesame oil, packs cow ghee, palm jaggery and forest honey, and ships them from Maniyampalayam, Tirupur to homes across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Maharashtra.

Wood-pressed vs refined oil
Most supermarket oil is solvent-extracted and refined. Here is what changes when oil is pressed slowly in a wooden chekku instead.

What is wood-pressed (mara chekku) oil?
Wood-pressed oil is oil extracted by slowly crushing seeds or dried coconut in a wooden press, called a chekku in Tamil or ghani in Hindi. It is not treated with chemical solvents or refined, so it keeps the natural aroma, colour and taste of the seed.
Is wood-pressed oil the same as cold-pressed oil?
Both methods avoid external heating. "Wood-pressed" specifically means the press is made of wood, like a traditional chekku or ghani. "Cold-pressed" is a broader term that also covers steel expellers. 7LAND oils are pressed in a wooden chekku.
Which 7LAND oil should I use for cooking?
Use groundnut oil for deep frying and everyday cooking, sesame (gingelly) oil for tempering, pickles, idli podi and South Indian dishes, and coconut oil for Kerala-style cooking, as well as hair and skin care.
Why has my coconut oil turned solid or cloudy?
Pure coconut oil naturally turns solid in cool weather, usually below about 24°C. It is still perfectly usable. Keep the bottle in warm water for a few minutes and it will turn liquid again.
How long does delivery take, and how much is shipping?
We ship from Tirupur. Delivery takes 2–4 days in Tamil Nadu, 3–5 days in Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, 4–6 days to Maharashtra and Delhi, and 5–7 days elsewhere in India. Delivery charges start at ₹80 for orders up to 1 kg and depend on weight and location. Delivery is free on prepaid orders above ₹2,500, and within 15 km of our unit in Maniyampalayam.
Where does 7LAND's ghee and honey come from?
Our cow ghee is made from the milk of native Kangayam and Uttukuli cows using the traditional method. Our wild, moringa and neem honey is raw forest honey collected in the Marthandam forest area.
